Established in 1998, 3rd generation grower Ed Van Hoven started a new venture with a clear image. Grow high quality plants at a competitive price, and better the world while doing so. What used to be a 5 acre modest family business has grown into 20 acres under roof and 15 acres of outdoor production space. With 5 acres newly added, American Color continues to expand.

Tending to a wide range of clientele, American Color sells millions of plants to companies ranging from local garden centers and oragnizations to prestigious retail chains, box stores, and Greenhouses.

While Keeping busy with his greenhouses here in Orange, Virginia, Ed also finds time to work with the Bountiful Plant Ministries in Guatemala.

Feeding the world through agriculture. Invoking God’s blessing to receive “the early and late rains” for an abundant harvest. We are appointed both gardener and guardian; we are to cultivate and nurture the earth not plunder and exploit it. “…do not forget to do good and to share with others”.
